The Maui Sports Academy was founded in 2002 with the purpose of providing top-notch basketball instruction through clinics and camps. The Maui Sports Academy also strives to provide the instruction in a manner that makes learning and playing the game of basketball fun. For the past seven summers the Maui Sports Academy has been offering basketball camps for boys and girls ages 8-18 on the island of Maui.

The fundamental youth camp is geared towards children entering grades 1-8. These camps include instruction on the basics of basketball, as well as a lot of drills and games that emphasize having fun. The high school camps are for boys and girls that compete on their junior varsity and varsity high school basketball teams. These camps are much more intense and structured with the focus on helping elevate their games to the next level.

For the summer of 2009, the Maui Sports Academy will continue to offer the best camp experience in the state of Hawaii through the 5th Annual Hawaii High School Basketball Exposure Camp. This camp is aimed at the top 50 prep players from around the state and will be held on the island of Maui in Lahaina. Alan Walls, the owner of the Maui Sports Academy, former college and current professional basketball coach, will provide the majority of the instruction at each of the camps. Contracted youth, high school and college level coaches will also provide additional instruction.
